FAQs

What does physiotherapy treatment involve?
Initially we will take a detailed history of your symptoms and identify how they affect your level of function. Realistic treatment goals will be identified and outlined to focus your treatment toward an area which is important to you. You will then receive a thorough examination which helps your physiotherapist to form a clinical impression along with the information you have provided in the initial part of your assessment. A treatment plan will be agreed and your consent obtained prior to any treatment taking place. Every step of the way you are an active partner in your treatment and this is reflected by the individual approach you will receive at Active Therapy.

How long do the treatment sessions last for?
Initial assessment lasts 45 minutes - 1 hour, dependant on requirements. Follow up sessions are either 45 or 30 minutes dependant upon the treatment you require and this will be explained to you fully whilst booking each session.

How do I pay?
Active Therapy accepts Cash or Cheque. Alternatively we are a recognised physiotherapy provider with all major healthcare companies (such as BUPA/AXA-PPP/AVIVA). We recommend you check with your healthcare provider the level of cover available and terms and conditions which may apply.

Are Active Therapy physiotherapists fully qualified and insured?
Yes. Andrew is a Chartered Physiotherapist registered with the Health Professions Council who has 12 years post graduate experience. Andrew is qualified to MSc Level and has received extensive post graduate training. Be assured your in safe hands!

Do I need to bring anything along to my consultation?
T-Shirt or Strap Top and Shorts will make assessment more comfortable. Please also bring along any training footwear you are currently wearing. If you are paying for your treatment by health insurance then bring along the details of your membership and authorisation code. If you take medications then please bring your prescription details.

Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. We can assess and treat you without referral from your GP. However we will provide details of your treatment to your GP (with your consent) to ensure effective management of your condition. If you are paying for treatment through a healthcare provider then most will require referral from your GP prior to consultation.

Do I need to be a member of Lichfield Golf & Country Club to receive treatment?
No. We treat anyone and everyone who needs our help!

How do I book an initial consultation?
Please contact our prices & booking page to book a consultation.

What is the cancellation policy?
We require a minimum of 24 hours notice if you are cancelling a scheduled appointment unless the full treatment fee is payable. This is in order to offer a fast, efficient service to all our patients as another person may require your appointment time.

How many sessions may I need?
This depends on your condition but you can be assured we will aim to keep your treatment costs to a minimum whilst ensuring you recover as quickly as possible. Also be assured that if you require further consultation then Andrew has developed a national network of specialist consultants that you can be referred to for further intervention.
